University of Portland Bulletin 2019-2020

Environmental Engineering Minor

Environmental engineering applies concepts from biology, chemistry, physics, hydraulics, and environmental science to solve environmental problems. Environmental engineering addresses significant questions of human concern that are pervasive in the 21stCentury, e.g. access to clean water, environmental cleanup, environmental ethics and social justice, climate change, etc.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain depth of understanding in at least one aspect of environmental engineering design.
  • Apply concepts of sustainability and low impact design to engineering problems.

Minor Prerequisites

Non-engineering majors may need to take additional prerequisites for some of these courses.
