Health and Counseling Center

Margaret Trout, MBA, director

The Health and Counseling Center provides confidential medical and mental health services to all full time students, focusing on the whole person and working closely with partners on campus to meet students' individual needs.

There is no charge for appointments to visit medical or mental health providers at the Health and Counseling Center. Nominal fees are charged for learning disability testing, medications, laboratory testing, and some medical supplies. Students will be made aware of these charges in advance if they apply.

Although insurance is not required to see a professional at the Health and Counseling Center, the University believes that a solid health plan is vital to the well-being of our students. All full-time undergraduate students are required to carry medical insurance and are automatically enrolled in the Student Insurance Plan. Students with comparable existing health insurance coverage may decline the plan by completing an online health insurance waiver through the Office of Student Accounts.

The Health and Counseling Center is located in the upper level of Oricco Hall and is open from 8:30-4:30 Monday–Friday. For more information, contact the center at 503-943-7134 or health@up.edu.
