Spanish Minor

The Spanish minor is designed for students who want to achieve practical and culture-based proficiency in Spanish to broaden their horizons and meet the increasing demand for people with world language skills and intercultural competence.
Learning Outcomes for the Spanish Minor
Students completing the Spanish minor will be able to:
- Communicate, in speaking and writing, with speakers of Spanish about a variety of social, cultural, and historical topics.
- Comprehend a variety of written and spoken texts (e.g., literature, journalism, podcasts, films) for content and social, cultural, and historical significance.
- Demonstrate curiosity, appreciation, and discernment of different and similar cultural practices.
Minor Requirements
Prerequisites - 12 credit hours
12 lower-division credit hours in Spanish courses or equivalent.
Required Courses - 12 upper-division credit hours
Students select one of the following two options in consultation with the Spanish program:
Option 1

Any Spanish course above
SPN 308 may count for the Advanced Spanish elective course.
