HST 353 History of Global Sports

This course uses the global history of sport as a window into cultural, social, and political history. Specifically, this course uses sports like football (soccer), baseball, basketball, surfing, and American football to explore historical issues like race, gender, colonialism, migration, and nationalism in areas such as East Asia, South Asia, Latin America, Oceania, Europe, and North America, among others.
