Artificial Intelligence Minor
A minor in Artificial Intelligence is available for students who want to add this knowledge and these skills to their major program. Applications of Artificial Intelligence exist in almost every domain and profession. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) minor prepares students for careers in which an understanding of data, models, software systems, and impacts of AI use is important.
Learning Outcomes:
- Design and build AI models
- Effectively evaluate and analyze existing AI models
Minor Prerequisites - 4 credit hours

Required Courses - 4 credit hours
Required AI Course - 3 credit hours

Minor Electives - 6 credit hours
Choose two courses from the following list, avoiding overlap with the required AI course:
Students may not take both CORE 350X and CS 350 to fulfill the minor electives.
A maximum of 3 credits of CS 493 is allowed and the research project must be in the field of artificial intelligence.
Students who are pursuing a major or minor that includes the courses above are advised to meet with an academic advisor to ensure they meet the degree requirements and the artificial intelligence minor requirements, subject to the 25% overlap rule.
