Scholarship Day
Cara Hersh, Ph.D., assistant provost for scholarly engagement & career readiness
Scholarship Day is an annual event that dates back to the origins of the University and recognizes the groundbreaking scholarly work of our students. Each year, festivities are kicked off with an awards breakfast for graduating seniors, followed by the student symposium (senior panel discussions, presentations, and recitals) and a scholarship luncheon, where students who receive financial aid from scholarships meet the benefactors whose generosity has helped them attend the university. Scholarship Day also incorporates PilotsGive, UP’s annual giving event to raise scholarship dollars to allow all current and future Pilots to pursue a University of Portland education. Scholarship Day is coordinated by the Office of Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement.
