The curriculum is rigorous and quantitative in operations and technology management and integrates theories and applications from business analytics, decision modeling, networking & telecommunications, process modeling, project and quality management, supply chain management and systems analysis & design.
Admission Requirements
Master of science in operations and technology management applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the University of Portland. Preferred admissions standards include earning the following percentiles on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT): meeting or exceeding the 75th percentile on the math portion; and on the verbal section, meeting or exceeding the 50th percentile. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) can be accepted in place of the GMAT exam. The GRE math standard must meet the 75th percentile and the verbal standards must reach the 50th percentile. Applicants must have a 3.2 cumulative undergraduate G.P.A. and have either an undergraduate degree in business or have coursework in the foundational business courses including: accounting, marketing, and finance. Admission to the MSOTM program is based on the entire application, not merely quantitative factors, including three letters of recommendation (at least one from an employer within the last two years), a statement of goals, and a resume. It is strongly recommended that applicants have two years of experience in an OTM related position. Alternatively, applicants without this experience but possessing higher GMAT or GRE scores(80th percentile required for math, 70th percentile for verbal) and a minimum of 3.4 undergraduate cumulative GPA will also be considered. Application requirements may be subject to change.

MSOTM students will complete 30 credit hours of specialized coursework in operations and technology management including five common courses (15 credit hours); three concentration courses (9 credit hours) either in operations management or information technology; two qualifying elective courses (6 credit hours) in operations management or information technology management.
