ENV 359 Glaciology
This course will cover the role of snow and ice in the connected Earth system, including: the formation and flow of glaciers and ice sheets, response of the cryosphere to climate change, importance of glaciers in Oregon’s hydrologic cycle, ice cores and glacial landforms as archives of climate history, connections and feedbacks between the ocean and marine glaciers, projections of sea level rise, and frontiers of glaciological research.
