Social and Emotional Learning Minor

The social and emotional learning (SEL) minor is for candidates interested in how social and emotional development of students and adults can be cultivated in educational settings. This minor is particularly beneficial for those looking to pursue advanced studies in fields related to education, including psychology, counseling, and social work, with a special emphasis on fostering the social and emotional growth of both children and adults.Three semester credit hours of lower-division prerequisites and twelve semester credit hours of upper-division coursework are required. Field work is required in some courses. Candidates interested in this minor must declare intent with the School of Education.
