ED 441 Foundations of Reading and Writing

Candidates will learn the essential components of foundational literacy: oral language, phonological awareness, decoding, word recognition, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. We will discuss the connection between reading and writing, focusing in on handwriting, spelling and sentence, as well as literacy acquisition and instruction. Field experience required. For education majors only.
